Acceptable Use Policy

Last modified: July 22, 2026

We don't ask who you are, but we do care what our platform is used for. This policy applies to all data stored on or served through buckets.ninja. Violations may result in suspension or termination without refund, and where required by law, referral to law enforcement.

1. Illegal Content

Storing, distributing, or serving any material that violates applicable law is prohibited. This includes, without limitation, content that constitutes an illegal threat, promotes violence or hatred, violates export control laws, or infringes the rights of third parties.

2. Child Sexual Abuse Material

Zero tolerance. The use of the service to store, transmit, or make available child sexual abuse material is strictly prohibited. We are required by law to notify law enforcement and will fully cooperate when we become aware of such material on or transiting our services.

3. Copyright & DMCA

All customers are subject to the requirements of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act. Valid infringement notifications sent to [email protected] will be processed; repeat infringers may have their accounts terminated. Counter-notification procedures follow the DMCA.

4. Malware & Destructive Activity

Using the service to host or distribute malware, viruses, worms, trojans, ransomware payloads, or command-and-control infrastructure is prohibited, as is any use of the service to conduct or support denial-of-service attacks, phishing, or fraud.

5. Spam

The service may not be used to store or serve content referenced in unsolicited bulk messaging, or to otherwise support spamming operations. This includes hosting landing assets, images, or files linked from spam.

6. System & Network Abuse

Unauthorized access attempts, probing or scanning of our systems or other customers’ buckets, interference with service to any user, and any attempt to circumvent billing, quotas, or authentication are prohibited and may result in criminal and civil liability.

7. Prohibited Commerce

The service may not be used as storage or infrastructure for the sale, promotion, or distribution of illegal drugs, weapons, stolen data, or counterfeit goods, or for any marketplace facilitating such transactions.

8. Fair Use of Shared Infrastructure

The platform is shared infrastructure. Usage patterns deliberately designed to degrade service for others, such as sustained abusive request rates, quota-evasion schemes, or use of the storage API as a compute or proxy layer, are prohibited. We will contact you before acting on good-faith edge cases.

9. Enforcement

We do not proactively inspect customer data. By design, we usually cannot. Enforcement is driven by abuse reports, legal notices, and operational signals. Depending on severity, we may warn, restrict, suspend, or terminate, and we do not issue refunds or credits for service disablement resulting from AUP violations.

To report a violation of this policy, contact [email protected]. Reports are reviewed by a human within 24 hours.
